Katie Bell presented The Bot Challenge (http://katharosada.github.io/botchallenge/).  This is a project which will let you automate routine tasks in Minecraft using Python.  Unlike the Raspberry Pi version, this works with the standard version of Minecraft by installing a plugin on a Minecraft server.  You can do this yourself, or you can simply connect to the europe.botchallenge.net Minecraft server and install the Python bits locally.  Full instructions are on the site above.
